CVE-2023-54314 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: af9005: Fix null-ptr-deref in af9005_i2c_xfer In af9005_i2c_xfer, msg is controlled by user. When msg[i].buf is null and msg[i].len is zero, former checks on msg[i].buf would be passed. Malicious data finally reach af9005_i2c_xfer. If accessing msg[i].buf[0] without sanity check, null ptr deref would happen. We add check on msg[i].len to prevent crash. Similar commit: commit 0ed554fd769a ("media: dvb-usb: az6027: fix null-ptr-deref in az6027_i2c_xfer()")

CVE-2023-54311 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: fix deadlock when converting an inline directory in nojournal mode In no journal mode, ext4_finish_convert_inline_dir() can self-deadlock by calling ext4_handle_dirty_dirblock() when it already has taken the directory lock. There is a similar self-deadlock in ext4_incvert_inline_data_nolock() for data files which we'll fix at the same time. A simple reproducer demonstrating the problem: mke2fs -Fq -t ext2 -O inline_data -b 4k /dev/vdc 64 mount -t ext4 -o dirsync /dev/vdc /vdc cd /vdc mkdir file0 cd file0 touch file0 touch file1 attr -s BurnSpaceInEA -V abcde . touch supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

I originally looked for the same pattern elsewhere in our code, but mistakenly skipped over this code because I saw the page cache readahead before we set_page_extent_mapped, not realizing that this was only in the !page case, that we can still end up with a !uptodate page and then do the btrfs_read_folio further down. The fix here is the same as the above mentioned patch, move the set_page_extent_mapped call to after the btrfs_read_folio() block to make sure that we have the subpage blocksize stuff setup properly before using the page.

CVE-2022-50778 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fortify: Fix __compiletime_strlen() under UBSAN_BOUNDS_LOCAL With CONFIG_FORTIFY=y and CONFIG_UBSAN_LOCAL_BOUNDS=y enabled, we observe a runtime panic while running Android's Compatibility Test Suite's (CTS) android.hardware.input.cts.tests. This is stemming from a strlen() call in hidinput_allocate(). __compiletime_strlen() is implemented in terms of __builtin_object_size(), then does an array access to check for NUL-termination. A quirk of __builtin_object_size() is that for strings whose values are runtime dependent, __builtin_object_size(str, 1 or 0) returns the maximum size of possible values when those sizes are determinable at compile time. Example: static const char *v = "FOO BAR"; static const char *y = "FOO BA"; unsigned long x (int z) { // Returns 8, which is: // max(__builtin_object_size(v, 1), __builtin_object_size(y, 1)) return __builtin_object_size(z ? v : y, 1); } So when FORTIFY_SOURCE is enabled, the current implementation of __compiletime_strlen() will try to access beyond the end of y at runtime using the size of v. Mixed with UBSAN_LOCAL_BOUNDS we get a fault. hidinput_allocate() has a local C string whose value is control flow dependent on a switch statement, so __builtin_object_size(str, 1) evaluates to the maximum string length, making all other cases fault on the last character check. hidinput_allocate() could be cleaned up to avoid runtime calls to strlen() since the local variable can only have literal values, so there's no benefit to trying to fortify the strlen call site there. Perform a __builtin_constant_p() check against index 0 earlier in the macro to filter out the control-flow-dependant case. Add a KUnit test for checking the expected behavioral characteristics of FORTIFY_SOURCE internals.

CVE-2025-40232 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rv: Fully convert enabled_monitors to use list_head as iterator The callbacks in enabled_monitors_seq_ops are inconsistent. Some treat the iterator as struct rv_monitor *, while others treat the iterator as struct list_head *. This causes a wrong type cast and crashes the system as reported by Nathan. Convert everything to use struct list_head * as iterator. This also makes enabled_monitors consistent with available_monitors.
CVE-2022-50774 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: qat - fix DMA transfer direction When CONFIG_DMA_API_DEBUG is selected, while running the crypto self test on the QAT crypto algorithms, the function add_dma_entry() reports a warning similar to the one below, saying that overlapping mappings are not supported. This occurs in tests where the input and the output scatter list point to the same buffers (i.e. two different scatter lists which point to the same chunks of memory). The logic that implements the mapping uses the flag DMA_BIDIRECTIONAL for both the input and the output scatter lists which leads to overlapped write mappings. These are not supported by the DMA layer. Fix by specifying the correct DMA transfer directions when mapping buffers. For in-place operations where the input scatter list matches the output scatter list, buffers are mapped once with DMA_BIDIRECTIONAL, otherwise input buffers are mapped using the flag DMA_TO_DEVICE and output buffers are mapped with DMA_FROM_DEVICE. Overlapping a read mapping with a write mapping is a valid case in dma-coherent devices like QAT. The function that frees and unmaps the buffers, qat_alg_free_bufl() has been changed accordingly to the changes to the mapping function. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: firmware: arm_sdei: Fix sleep from invalid context BUG Running a preempt-rt (v6.2-rc3-rt1) based kernel on an Ampere Altra triggers: BUG: sleeping function called from invalid context at kernel/locking/spinlock_rt.c:46 in_atomic(): 0, irqs_disabled(): 128, non_block: 0, pid: 24, name: cpuhp/0 preempt_count: 0, expected: 0 RCU nest depth: 0, expected: 0 3 locks held by cpuhp/0/24: #0: ffffda30217c70d0 (cpu_hotplug_lock){++++}-{0:0}, at: cpuhp_thread_fun+0x5c/0x248 #1: ffffda30217c7120 (cpuhp_state-up){+.+.}-{0:0}, at: cpuhp_thread_fun+0x5c/0x248 #2: ffffda3021c711f0 (sdei_list_lock){....}-{3:3}, at: sdei_cpuhp_up+0x3c/0x130 irq event stamp: 36 hardirqs last enabled at (35): [<ffffda301e85b7bc>] finish_task_switch+0xb4/0x2b0 hardirqs last disabled at (36): [<ffffda301e812fec>] cpuhp_thread_fun+0x21c/0x248 softirqs last enabled at (0): [<ffffda301e80b184>] copy_process+0x63c/0x1ac0 softirqs last disabled at (0): [<0000000000000000>] 0x0 CPU: 0 PID: 24 Comm: cpuhp/0 Not tainted 5.19.0-rc3-rt5-[...] Hardware name: WIWYNN Mt.Jade Server [...] Call trace: dump_backtrace+0x114/0x120 show_stack+0x20/0x70 dump_stack_lvl+0x9c/0xd8 dump_stack+0x18/0x34 __might_resched+0x188/0x228 rt_spin_lock+0x70/0x120 sdei_cpuhp_up+0x3c/0x130 cpuhp_invoke_callback+0x250/0xf08 cpuhp_thread_fun+0x120/0x248 smpboot_thread_fn+0x280/0x320 kthread+0x130/0x140 ret_from_fork+0x10/0x20 sdei_cpuhp_up() is called in the STARTING hotplug section, which runs with interrupts disabled. Use a CPUHP_AP_ONLINE_DYN entry instead to execute the cpuhp cb later, with preemption enabled. SDEI originally got its own cpuhp slot to allow interacting with perf. It got superseded by pNMI and this early slot is not relevant anymore. [1] Some SDEI calls (e.g. SDEI_1_0_FN_SDEI_PE_MASK) take actions on the calling CPU. It is checked that preemption is disabled for them. _ONLINE cpuhp cb are executed in the 'per CPU hotplug thread'. Preemption is enabled in those threads, but their cpumask is limited to 1 CPU. Move 'WARN_ON_ONCE(preemptible())' statements so that SDEI cpuhp cb don't trigger them. Also add a check for the SDEI_1_0_FN_SDEI_PRIVATE_RESET SDEI call which acts on the calling CPU. CVE-2022-50771 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rcu: Fix __this_cpu_read() lockdep warning in rcu_force_quiescent_state() Running rcutorture with non-zero fqs_duration module parameter in a kernel built with CONFIG_PREEMPTION=y results in the following splat: BUG: using __this_cpu_read() in preemptible [00000000] code: rcu_torture_fqs/398 caller is __this_cpu_preempt_check+0x13/0x20 CPU: 3 PID: 398 Comm: rcu_torture_fqs Not tainted 6.0.0-rc1-yoctodev-standard+ Call Trace: <TASK> dump_stack_lvl+0x5b/0x86 dump_stack+0x10/0x16 check_preemption_disabled+0xe5/0xf0 __this_cpu_preempt_check+0x13/0x20 rcu_force_quiescent_state.part.0+0x1c/0x170 rcu_force_quiescent_state+0x1e/0x30 rcu_torture_fqs+0xca/0x160 ? rcu_torture_boost+0x430/0x430 kthread+0x192/0x1d0 ? kthread_complete_and_exit+0x30/0x30 ret_from_fork+0x22/0x30 </TASK> The problem is that rcu_force_quiescent_state() uses __this_cpu_read() in preemptible code instead of the proper raw_cpu_read(). This commit therefore changes __this_cpu_read() to raw_cpu_read().
