CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Bluetooth: hci_sysfs: Fix NULL pointer dereference in device_del()
A NULL pointer dereference in klist_put() occurs when a child device (such
as a BNEP network device in bnep_session) is concurrently being
unregistered while hci_conn_del_sysfs() reparents child devices.
This is caused by a race condition between hci_conn_del_sysfs() and
concurrent child device unregistration (e.g. bnep_session calling
unregister_netdev()). During device unregistration, device_del() snapshots
a non-NULL parent pointer. Concurrently, hci_conn_del_sysfs() finds the
child device using device_find_any_child() and calls device_move() to
reparent it to NULL, which removes the node from its parent's klist and
clears knode_parent. Subsequently, device_del() calls
klist_del(&dev->p->knode_parent) using the stale parent snapshot, causing
klist_put() to dereference knode_klist(n)->put on an already removed node,
resulting in a NULL pointer dereference.
This race was introduced by commit 27aabf27fd01 ("Bluetooth: fix
use-after-free in device_for_each_child()"), which replaced
device_find_child(..., __match_tty) with device_find_any_child() in
hci_conn_del_sysfs(). That change was intended to avoid a use-after-free
where conn->dev outlived its parent hdev->dev when child devices held
references to conn->dev, because conn->dev only held a reference to
hdev->dev while registered in sysfs.
Fix the issue properly by taking an explicit reference to the parent device
with get_device(&hdev->dev) in hci_conn_init_sysfs() and dropping it with
put_device(parent) in bt_link_release() when the conn device is freed. This
ensures that hdev->dev remains valid for the entire lifecycle of conn->dev,
resolving the underlying use-after-free. With the parent reference held
properly, restore the __match_tty filter in hci_conn_del_sysfs() so that
device_move() is only invoked on persistent RFCOMM TTY devices as
originally intended, eliminating the race condition with unregistering
network devices. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
gfs2: fix quota init duplicate scan
gfs2_quota_init() checks for duplicate quota_change IDs while holding
qd_lock and the quota hash bucket bitlock. That path used
gfs2_qd_search_bucket(), which takes a lockref reference via
lockref_get_not_dead().
On PREEMPT_RT this may sleep, which is not allowed under the bucket
bitlock, triggering "sleeping function called from invalid context".
Use a no-ref bucket lookup in this path, then continue duplicate
handling without taking a lockref there.
Refactor gfs2_qd_search_bucket() to build on top of the no-ref helper
so lookup traversal stays in one place.
This patch fixes a bug reported by syzbot. |
| Creating a "2dsphere_bucket" index on a non-timeseries bucket collection will succeed, but any subsequent attempt to insert a document which triggers updating that index will crash the server. A similar issue occurs when creating "queryable_encrypted_range" indices.
This issue affects MongoDB Server v7.0 versions prior to 7.0.32, v8.0 versions prior to 8.0.21 and v8.2 versions prior to 8.2.6 |
| A flaw was found in ModemManager. When parsing a Cell Broadcast Message, some 3GPP data-coding-scheme values (8-bit and reserved character sets) are not handled. The process hits a reachable assertion and aborts. An attacker who can deliver a crafted Cell Broadcast PDU over the radio network, or via a modem AT channel, can cause ModemManager to exit. Repeated aborts can exhaust systemd's default start limit and leave the service failed. |
| A reachable assertion vulnerability exists in YARA 4.5.8 when loading crafted .yrc compiled rule files. An attacker can provide a malicious file with an invalid arena configuration (num_buffers=0) that triggers an assertion failure in yr_arena_get_ptr(), causing the application to terminate. |
| vLLM versions before 0.28.0 fail to validate the lower bound of token IDs in the /v1/embeddings and /pooling endpoints, allowing unauthenticated attackers to crash the engine by submitting negative token IDs. A single request with a negative token ID triggers a CUDA device-side assertion that poisons the GPU context, causing all subsequent requests to fail until the process restarts. |
| vLLM through 0.29.0 contains a denial of service vulnerability in the NIXL connector's prefix caching implementation that fails to properly validate block counts across multi-prompt completion requests in prefill/decode disaggregated deployments. Attackers can trigger an assertion failure in NixlBaseConnectorWorker._apply_prefix_caching by submitting completion requests with multiple prompts of varying lengths, causing the decode worker to terminate and become unavailable until restarted. |
| A flaw was found in `cockpit-ws`. This vulnerability allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by sending a specially crafted request. When the `WebService.UrlRoot` is configured and a request is made to the exact URL-root prefix without a trailing slash, `cockpit-ws` can terminate unexpectedly. This issue leads to the unavailability of the Cockpit web service. |
| libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder. From 1.19.0 until 1.23.3, a crafted image item containing a clap property and an ispe width or height greater than INT32_MAX + 1 can reach crop calculations through heif_image_handle_get_image_tiling(). Box_clap::left_rounded() or Box_clap::top_rounded() passes the image dimension minus one to Fraction::Fraction(), whose uint32_t constructor uses an assertion as input validation, causing assert-enabled builds to abort. Release builds can instead compute invalid crop geometry, and the tiling API returns dimensions that the normal decode security limits reject. This issue is fixed in version 1.23.3. |
| In osmo-iuh from 0.1.0 through 1.8.0 a reachable assertion was found in the ranap_handle_co_dt() function via a arbitrarily sized NAS-PDU that leads to process crash and remote denial of service. |
| A buffer overflow in the SBC_DecodeFrames() function of Bestechnic Co., Ltd BES2300 Bluetooth Audio SoC firmware v3.x and earlier and fixed in v.5.0 allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via sending a crafted frame. |
| FreeRDP versions before 3.31.0 contain an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the urbdrc client channel's urb_send_current_frame_number_result() function. A malicious RDP server can send a crafted 28-byte USB redirection message to trigger a 4-byte write past the allocated 16-byte buffer, causing denial of service when verbose asserts are enabled. |
| On affected platforms running Arista EOS with Open Shortest Path First version 3 (OSPFv3) configured, an unauthenticated attacker on the same OSPFv3 broadcast domain can send a specially crafted set of packets that can cause the Ospf3 agent to restart unexpectedly. The crash results in the loss of all OSPFv3 adjacencies on the affected device and may disrupt routing across the broader OSPF domain until the agent recovers.
This issue was reported externally by Dravanet Inc., and Arista is not aware of any malicious exploitation of this vulnerability in customer networks. |
| FreeRDP before 3.31.0 contains a denial-of-service vulnerability in the URBDRC control-transfer request path that fails to validate OutputBufferSize before forwarding to the libusb backend. A malicious RDP server can send a control-transfer request with OutputBufferSize set to 65536, triggering a reachable assertion that terminates the client process. |
| ION-DTN before 4.2.1-a.1 contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to crash the ION process by sending a BPv7 bundle with a zero-length payload. The canonicalizePayloadBlock() function in bpsec_util.c passes bundle->payload.length to zco_clone() without validating it against zero, causing a failed CHKZERO assertion that triggers sm_Abort() and terminates the process with SIGABRT before any HMAC verification occurs, requiring no valid key or credential to exploit. |
| Initializing the DNS stub resolver from an /etc/resolv.conf file, or a LOCALDOMAIN environment variable, whose search list contains a domain of roughly 200 characters or more in the GNU C Library version 2.26 to 2.44 results in an assertion failure which aborts the process.
The resolver truncates the search list when copying it into the fixed-size _res.defdname buffer, then asserts that the copy is consistent with the full configuration. The consistency check compared against the wrong size and did not handle a first entry that does not fit, so a correctly truncated list failed the assertion. Any process that resolves names through the library is affected, including long-running processes that reload /etc/resolv.conf on the next query after it changes. Search domains are commonly written to /etc/resolv.conf from data received over DHCP or from a VPN server, so an attacker on the local network may be able to trigger this without privileges on the target system, subject to validation by the network configuration software. |
| An attacker can cause `named` to abort by sending a crafted DNS-over-HTTPS request with a cryptographically invalid SIG(0) record, and then closing the transport connection prematurely.
This issue affects BIND 9 versions 9.20.0 through 9.20.27, 9.21.0 through 9.21.25, and 9.20.9-S1 through 9.20.27-S1. |
| UMTS FP protocol dissector crash in 4.6.0 to 4.6.7 and 4.4.0 to 4.4.18 allows denial of service |
| C12.22 protocol dissector crash in 4.6.0 to 4.6.7 and 4.4.0 to 4.4.18 allows denial of service |
| If a BIND resolver sends a query for a DNSSEC-signed authoritative zone, and the authoritative server replies with a valid wildcard answer and signed NSEC3 proof, followed by an unsigned NSEC at the same owner name, it will trigger an unexpected program exit.
This issue affects BIND 9 versions 9.11.0 through 9.18.50, 9.20.0 through 9.20.27, 9.21.0 through 9.21.25, 9.11.3-S1 through 9.18.50-S1, and 9.20.9-S1 through 9.20.27-S1. |
