| CVE-2026-99219 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-11-02 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ftrace: Initialize modname and offset in print_rec() print_rec() leaves 'modname' and 'offset' uninitialized and kallsyms_lookup() only sets them on success. When the lookup fails like when a module is being loaded or unloaded, 'modname' holds a garbage value, passes the 'if (modname)' check, and is dereferenced by seq_printf(). Oops: general protection fault RIP: 0010:string+0x48/0xe0 Call Trace: vsnprintf+0x1f5/0x650 seq_printf+0x8e/0xb0 print_rec+0x6c/0xc0 t_show+0x4c/0x440 seq_read_iter+0x119/0x480 This can be triggered by reading available_filter_functions while a module is being loaded or unloaded. Initialize both variables so a failed lookup skips the module name. | ||||
| CVE-2026-99218 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-11-02 | 7 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: coredump: hold RCU while releasing parked threads coredump_finish() releases the parked threads by clearing ->task in their core_thread entry and calling wake_up_process() on each of them. It does that without holding a reference on the task and without being inside rcu. But calling wake_up_process(task) without rcu here isn't safe. A parked thread doesn't need that wakeup to leave. A spurious wakeup or a preemption after the store is enough for the task to go away. So if the coredump client is preempted between the store and wake_up_process() the thread can exit and be freed in the meantime and try_to_wake_up() takes pi_lock in freed memory. Hold rcu across the loop. | ||||
| CVE-2026-99217 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-11-02 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fork: release the files of a failed fork after sched_cancel_fork() Reorder copy_process() cleanup so sched_fork() taking scx_fork_rwsem scx_pre_fork() is safe and isn't held around exiting files. Right now, a fork that fails while another thread closed the bpf link fd will deadlock against its own read side. It also blocks every fork on the system: copy_process() holds scx_fork_rwsem for read exit_files() close_files() filp_close_sync() bpf_scx_unreg() kthread_flush_work() waits for the disable work scx_root_disable() percpu_down_write(&scx_fork_rwsem) Simply release the child's files after sched_cancel_fork() dropped the lock. The task starts out as a copy of its parent so p->files points to the parent's table until copy_files() replaces it. exit_files() must not run for a fork that failed before that. Clear p->files up front so exit_files() is a no-op for those and make copy_files() set it explicitly for CLONE_FILES. | ||||
| CVE-2026-119205 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | 5.5 Medium |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.21.4, pypdf can enter an infinite loop when cloning or duplicating a crafted cyclic DictionaryObject. Clone traversal checked generated destination references rather than the original source references, allowing some source cycles to evade the visited-object check. This issue is fixed in version 6.21.4. | ||||
| CVE-2026-27888 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | 7.5 High |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.7.3, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to the RAM being exhausted. This requires accessing the `xfa` property of a reader or writer and the corresponding stream being compressed using `/FlateDecode`. This has been fixed in pypdf 6.7.3. As a workaround, apply the patch manually. | ||||
| CVE-2023-46250 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | 5.1 Medium |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. An attacker who uses a vulnerability present in versions 3.7.0 through 3.16.4 can craft a PDF which leads to an infinite loop. This infinite loop blocks the current process and can utilize a single core of the CPU by 100%. It does not affect memory usage. That is, for example, the case when the pypdf-user manipulates an incoming malicious PDF e.g. by merging it with another PDF or by adding annotations. The issue was fixed in version 3.17.0. As a workaround, apply the patch manually by modifying `pypdf/generic/_data_structures.py`. | ||||
| CVE-2026-48156 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | 3.3 Low |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.12.0, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to long runtimes. This requires cross-reference streams with /W [0 0 0] values and large /Size values. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.12.0. | ||||
| CVE-2026-103000 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | 7.5 High |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.19.0, a crafted PDF can provide unusually large alphabetical page-label values that cause pypdf/_page_labels.py to generate strings beyond a reasonable page-label length when an application retrieves document page labels, consuming excessive memory and potentially making the application unavailable. This issue is fixed in version 6.19.0. | ||||
| CVE-2023-36807 | 2 Py-pdf, Pypdf Project | 2 Pypdf, Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | 6.2 Medium |
| pypdf is a pure-python PDF library capable of splitting, merging, cropping, and transforming the pages of PDF files. In version 2.10.5 an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to an infinite loop. This infinite loop blocks the current process and can utilize a single core of the CPU by 100%. It does not affect memory usage. That is, for example, the case if the user extracted metadata from such a malformed PDF. Versions prior to 2.10.5 throw an error, but do not hang forever. This issue was fixed with https://github.com/py-pdf/pypdf/pull/1331 which has been included in release 2.10.6. Users are advised to upgrade. Users unable to upgrade should modify `PyPDF2/generic/_data_structures.py::read_object` to an an error throwing case. See GHSA-hm9v-vj3r-r55m for details. | ||||
| CVE-2023-36810 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | 6.2 Medium |
| pypdf is a pure-python PDF library capable of splitting, merging, cropping, and transforming the pages of PDF files. An attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to unexpected long runtime. This quadratic runtime blocks the current process and can utilize a single core of the CPU by 100%. It does not affect memory usage. This issue has been addressed in PR 808 and versions from 1.27.9 include this fix. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability. | ||||
| CVE-2025-62707 | 2 Py-pdf, Pypdf Project | 2 Pypdf, Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | 7.5 High |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to version 6.1.3, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to an infinite loop. This requires parsing the content stream of a page which has an inline image using the DCTDecode filter. This has been fixed in pypdf version 6.1.3. | ||||
| CVE-2026-102993 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | 7.5 High |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.17.0, a crafted PDF can provide unusually large Roman page-label values that cause pypdf/_page_labels.py to generate excessively large numeral strings when an application retrieves document page labels, consuming large amounts of memory and potentially making the application unavailable. This issue is fixed in version 6.17.0. | ||||
| CVE-2026-102994 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | 7.5 High |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.18.0, a crafted PDF containing indirect-object identifiers or generation-number tokens that continue for a long time without whitespace can cause pypdf/_reader.py and pypdf/generic/_base.py to scan excessive input through read_until_whitespace, resulting in long runtimes and application unavailability. This issue is fixed in version 6.18.0. | ||||
| CVE-2026-102996 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | 7.5 High |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.18.1, a crafted PDF can provide a TrueType or Type1 simple font with an unusually large /Widths array, causing pypdf/_font.py Font._collect_tt_t1_character_widths to process entries beyond the 256 character codes meaningful for a simple font and consume excessive memory during operations such as text extraction. This issue is fixed in version 6.18.1. | ||||
| CVE-2026-102997 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | 7.5 High |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.18.1, a crafted PDF containing a partially malformed /FlateDecode stream with padded data can force pypdf/filters.py to use inefficient byte-by-byte decompression while the earlier recovery counter fails to advance for bytes that successfully decode, causing long runtimes and application unavailability. This is a residual issue after the malformed FlateDecode recovery fix. This issue is fixed in version 6.18.1. | ||||
| CVE-2026-102998 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | 7.5 High |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.19.0, a crafted PDF with form field values can cause pypdf/generic/_appearance_stream.py appearance-stream generation to repeat invariant selection-data work inside a loop when an application updates fields with flattening enabled, resulting in excessive runtimes and application unavailability. This issue is fixed in version 6.19.0. | ||||
| CVE-2026-102999 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | 7.5 High |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.19.0, a crafted PDF containing many embedded files can cause the dictionary-based attachments API in pypdf/_doc_common.py to reparse the full attachment list for each content lookup, producing repeated work and long runtimes when an application accesses the embedded-file mapping. This issue is fixed in version 6.19.0. | ||||
| CVE-2026-119203 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | 5.5 Medium |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.21.4, pypdf can enter an infinite loop while opening a crafted incomplete PDF whose standard cross-reference table reaches the end of the file without a trailer. The trailer search can repeatedly rewind to the same stream position instead of terminating when parsing makes no progress, blocking the processing thread. This issue is fixed in version 6.21.4. | ||||
| CVE-2026-119209 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | 5.5 Medium |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.21.3, pypdf can consume excessive memory while opening a crafted PDF containing cross-reference streams that declare very large entry counts. Highly compressible streams and /Prev chains can multiply the number of parsed entries across a document, while negative /Index counts can bypass the existing per-stream clamp. This issue is fixed in version 6.21.3. | ||||
| CVE-2026-22690 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | 5.3 Medium |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to version 6.6.0, pypdf has possible long runtimes for missing /Root object with large /Size values. An attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to possibly long runtimes for actually invalid files. This can be achieved by omitting the /Root entry in the trailer, while using a rather large /Size value. Only the non-strict reading mode is affected. This issue has been patched in version 6.6.0. | ||||
