| CVE-2026-98869 | 1 Linux | 2 Linux, Linux Kernel | 2026-10-22 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Infer zext_dst based on static register liveness analysis As reported in the thread [1], the verifier's 32-bit operations zero extension logic is broken. This logic is responsible for correct semantics of 32-bit operations on s390 architecture. According to BPF semantics, operation `w1 += 1` is supposed to zero extend the upper half of the register `r1`. On s390 the JIT relies on the verifier emitting explicit zero extension before such operations. The verifier attempts to minimize the amount of zero extensions inserted by tracking whether upper halves of the 64-bit registers are ever used. Previously such tracking worked as follows: - bpf_reg_state->subreg_def field was set by do_check_insn() for each operation defining lower but not the upper halves of the register. - Whenever an operation reading the whole register was verified, the verifier checked register's subreg_def and set bpf_insn_aux_data->zext_dst flag as true via a call to mark_insn_zext() function. - After the verification was complete, a special pass bpf_opt_subreg_zext_lo32_rnd_hi32() extended 32-bit operations with bpf_insn_aux_data->zext_dst set as true by adding explicit zero extension. Note that the logic above relies on bpf_reg_state->subreg_def, which is a property of a current verifier state. Before the commit [2] two additional steps happened: - The verifier tracked upper and lower register halves' liveness as flags REG_LIVE_READ{32,64} in bpf_reg_state->live. - The function propagate_liveness() called mark_insn_zext() in order to transfer the knowledge about which registers have their upper halves alive (and thus might require zero extension). The commit [2] removed the two steps described above, hence making possible a situation like below: - The register's upper half is set and is used on some verification path P1 and the register happens not to be marked as precise. - The checkpoint C is created while processing some instruction between register initialization and usage. - On some other verification path P2 the register's upper half is not initialized and that path ends hitting the checkpoint C. - In such a case the register's initialization on path P2 would lack zext_dst mark, making it possible for the program to inject an arbitrary value in the register's upper half. This commit replaces subreg_def based logic with computing zext_dst statically, as a part of the bpf_compute_live_registers() analysis: - The analysis now tracks usage of upper and lower halves of the registers separately. - If some instruction defines a 32-bit subregister, but not the whole register, *and* the upper half of the register is alive after that instruction, the instruction is marked as zext_dst. There is one notable drop in precision: whenever a BPF subprogram is called, all 64 bits of parameter registers are presumed to be used. The assumption is that such a drop in precision would not inflict a noticeable performance penalty. | CVE-2026-85518 | 1 Redhat | 2 Enterprise Linux, Hummingbird | 2026-10-22 | 6.1 Medium |
| A flaw was found in OpenSCAP. When decomposing a Source DataStream (SDS) file, the application does not properly validate relative file path attributes, leading to a path traversal vulnerability. An attacker can exploit this flaw by tricking a user or automated system into decomposing a crafted datastream containing directory traversal sequences. Successful exploitation allows unauthorized file creation or modification outside the intended target directory with the permissions of the executing process. | ||||
| CVE-2026-96642 | 1 Python-pillow | 1 Pillow | 2026-10-22 | 6.5 Medium |
| Pillow is a Python imaging library. Prior to 13.0.0, the TarIO initializer in src/PIL/TarIO.py accepts a negative octal member size and computes a backward seek that returns to the same 512-byte header. When the requested member name does not match, the parser repeatedly reads that header, consumes a full CPU core, and never returns. TarIO is reached only when an application directly uses PIL.TarIO.TarIO rather than the default Image.open() path. This issue is fixed in version 13.0.0. | ||||
| CVE-2026-96640 | 1 Python-pillow | 1 Pillow | 2026-10-22 | 7.5 High |
| Pillow is a Python imaging library. From 5.1.0 until 13.0.0, PdfParser.linearize_page_tree() in src/PIL/PdfParser.py treats a PDF /Pages graph as a tree without tracking duplicate indirect references. When Image.save(..., format="PDF", append=True) processes an attacker-controlled existing PDF whose /Kids arrays repeatedly reference the same child /Pages node, Pillow expands the shared subtree as distinct pages. A compact malformed PDF can therefore create exponentially many page references and consume disproportionate CPU before the append completes. This issue is fixed in version 13.0.0. | ||||
| CVE-2026-114714 | 1 Roundcube | 1 Webmail | 2026-10-22 | 5.3 Medium |
| Roundcube Webmail before 1.6.20 and 1.7.x before 1.7.5 is affected by a path traversal vulnerability in the squirrelmail_usercopy plugin. With the file based backend, the source path was built from the login name without rejecting path separators, so a login name containing a slash could cause files outside the configured squirrelmail_data_dir to be read and imported. Upstream fixed this in the commit “Fix unsafe use of a login name in SquirrelMail import file path”, which rejects login names containing a slash. | ||||

| CVE-2026-114726 | 1 Roundcube | 1 Webmail | 2026-10-22 | 5.8 Medium |
| Roundcube Webmail before 1.6.20 and 1.7.x before 1.7.5 is affected by a mail header injection vulnerability in the Bounce (resend) action. rcube_mime::decode_address_list() did not strip control characters from the decoded display name, so a received message whose From display-name carries CRLF sequences in an encoded word could inject arbitrary headers into the message emitted when the user bounces it. Upstream fixed this in the commit “Fix mail header injection via the From display-name in the Bounce (resend) action”. | ||||
| CVE-2026-19856 | 1 Wordpress-extensions | 1 All In One Seo | 2026-10-22 | 6.5 Medium |
| The All in One SEO WordPress plugin before 5.0.2.1 does not correctly determine which shortcodes are present in content derived from user input before deciding which ones to strip, allowing unauthenticated users to execute arbitrary shortcodes registered on the site. On sites upgraded from older versions the protection is disabled outright, making the issue reachable without any crafted input. | ||||
| CVE-2026-84916 | 1 Drupal | 1 Islandora | 2026-10-22 | N/A |

| CVE-2026-96596 | 2 Erlang, Hexpm | 4 Erlang\/otp, Rebar3, Hex and 1 more | 2026-10-22 | 5.5 Medium |
| Loop with Unreachable Exit Condition ('Infinite Loop') vulnerability in Erlang OTP stdlib (erl_tar module), hexpm hex_core (hex_erl_tar module), hexpm hex (mix_hex_erl_tar module) and erlang rebar3 (r3_hex_erl_tar module) allows an attacker who supplies a tar archive to cause a denial of service via a crafted GNU sparse member. When erl_tar:extract/1,2 writes a member to disk, erl_tar:stream_to_file_loop/3 reads it in chunks of 65536 bytes by default. For a GNU sparse member whose sparse map ends before its real size, erl_tar:do_sparse_read/3 matches its trailing-hole clause before its zero-length clause. After the chunk is used up, the trailing-hole clause reads zero bytes, does not advance the position, and recurses forever. A 2048-byte archive keeps the extracting process and one scheduler busy until the process is killed. The {max_size, N} option prevents this only when N is below the real size of the member. Extraction with the memory option is not affected. hex_core ships its own copy of erl_tar as hex_erl_tar, and Hex and rebar3 ship hex_core with prefixed module names (mix_hex_erl_tar and r3_hex_erl_tar). These copies contain the same code and do not call stdlib's erl_tar, so they are affected on any OTP version. OTP 28 is not affected, but an application running on OTP 28 is affected if it extracts archives through an affected version of hex_core, Hex or rebar3. This issue affects OTP from OTP 29.0 before OTP 29.1.2, corresponding to rebar3 from 3.27.1 before 3.28.0, and stdlib from 8.0 before 8.1.1, and hex from 2.4.2 before 2.5.3; hex_core: from 0.14.0 before 0.20.1. | ||||
| CVE-2026-114721 | 1 Roundcube | 1 Webmail | 2026-10-22 | 3.1 Low |
| Roundcube Webmail before 1.6.20 and 1.7.x before 1.7.5 allows the disabled_actions configuration setting to be bypassed. The check compared only the action name as requested, so a remote authenticated attacker could reach an action listed in disabled_actions by requesting it through its deprecated alias instead. Upstream fixed this in the commit “Fix bug where deprecated action aliases bypassed `disabled_actions` setting”, which moves the check into rcmail::action_handler() and resolves aliases before comparing. | ||||
