CVSS v3.1 |
| Notepad++ is a free and open-source source code editor. Prior to 8.9.8, Notepad++ contains a stack buffer overflow in NppParameters::writeSession in PowerEditor/src/Parameters.cpp because it copies a session path derived from -settingsDir= into backupPathName[MAX_PATH] with unbounded wcscpy and appends SESSION_BACKUP_EXT with unbounded wcscat. A sufficiently long settings directory causes the backup suffix to exceed the fixed stack buffer when Notepad++ saves the session, and the protected release build terminates through its stack canary, causing denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 8.9.8. |
| Stack-based buffer overflow in Windows Device Association Service allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network. |
| A vulnerability exists in the configuration processing logic of the affected component where malformed input is improperly processed. An authenticated remote attacker with administrative privileges could exploit this vulnerability by providing specially crafted configuration data. Successful exploitation could result in a stack-based buffer overflow, potentially leading to remote code execution with root privileges or a denial of service due to a system crash. |
| Buffer Copy without Checking Size of Input ('Classic Buffer Overflow'), Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability in RTI Connext Professional (Core Libraries) allows Overflow Variables and Tags. This issue affects Connext Professional: from 7.4.0 before 7.5.0, from 7.0.0 before 7.3.0.7, from 6.1.0 before 6.1.2.23, from 6.0.0 before 6.0.1.42, from 5.3.0 before 5.3.*, from 5.2.0 before 5.2.*, from 4.5c before 5.1.*. |
| A vulnerability was determined in D-Link DIR-868L 2.01b05. This issue affects the function strcpy of the file /webfa_authentication.cgi of the component Authentication Handler. Executing a manipulation of the argument id/password can lead to stack-based buffer overflow. The attack can be executed remotely. The exploit has been publicly disclosed and may be utilized. |
| A flaw was found in GNU Coreutils. The sort utility's begfield() function is vulnerable to a heap buffer under-read. The program may access memory outside the allocated buffer if a user runs a crafted command using the traditional key format. A malicious input could lead to a crash or leak sensitive data. |
| Out-of-bounds read in Windows Win32K allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network. |
| Buffer overflow vulnerabilities exist in the underlying operating system of EdgeConnect SD-WAN Gateways that could allow an unauthenticated adjacent attacker to execute arbitrary code if certain preconditions outside of the attacker's control are met. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code as a privileged user on the underlying operating system leading to complete system compromise. |
| Rsyslog is a rocket-fast system for log processing. From 7.5.4 until 8.2606.0, the optional mmpstrucdata plugin's parseSD_PARAM function in plugins/mmpstrucdata/mmpstrucdata.c stores RFC5424 parameter values in a fixed pVal[32 * 1024] stack buffer and calls parsePARAM_VALUE without supplying the destination size. A remote unauthenticated attacker whose crafted RFC5424 message reaches an action using mmpstrucdata can provide a structured-data parameter larger than that buffer when MaxMessageSize permits it, causing an attacker-controlled stack overwrite. Deployments that do not install and use the plugin, or whose effective message-size limit remains below the required threshold, are not affected by this issue. The demonstrated impact is a crash and interruption of log collection; code execution is not demonstrated. This issue is fixed in version 8.2606.0. |
| Netcore NR255-V version 1.5.130703 contains a stack-based buffer overflow in ntools_tcpdump_start_set.cgi caused by an unsized sprintf call when processing form values. An attacker can submit crafted input to this cgi endpoint to overflow the stack buffer and potentially execute arbitrary code. |
| Fluent Bit is a fast and lightweight logs, metrics, and traces processor for Linux, BSD, macOS, and Windows. From 0.11.0 until 5.0.8, plugins/out_forward/forward.c secure_forward_pong copies the server-controlled PONG[2] reason into the 32-byte stack buffer msg with memcpy without checking its MessagePack type or length. An attacker who controls or can impersonate an out_forward Secure Forward destination configured with Shared_Key or Empty_Shared_Key can send an oversized reason during the first handshake and overwrite stack control data. Protected builds reliably terminate, while builds without a stack canary or with a disclosure can allow remote code execution as the Fluent Bit process user. When the opt-in --supervisor mode is used, fork-only respawns preserve the canary and address layout, allowing repeated crash-or-survive probes to support code execution on a hardened build; ordinary exec-based or service-manager restarts do not preserve that state. This issue is fixed in version 5.0.8. |
| Dell Update Package Framework, versions prior to 26.07.03, contains a Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability. An unauthenticated attacker with adjacent network access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Remote execution. |
| Stack-based buffer overflow in Windows Netlogon allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network. |
| Buffer overflow in WebGL in Google Chrome on on Android prior to 153.0.8010.52 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Critical) |
| A buffer overflow issue was addressed with improved memory handling. This issue is fixed in iOS 18.7.10 and iPadOS 18.7.10, iOS 26.5 and iPadOS 26.5, iOS 26.7 and iPadOS 26.7, macOS Sequoia 15.7.8, macOS Sonoma 14.8.8, macOS Tahoe 26.5, tvOS 26.5, watchOS 26.5. Processing a maliciously crafted image may corrupt process memory. |
| PLANET IGS-5225-8P2T4S industrial managed switch V1 and V2 firmware versions before 1.2412b260707 and 2.2412b260519 contain a stack-based buffer overflow in the web server. Insufficient bounds checking on data copied into a stack buffer allows a remote authenticated attacker to cause a denial of service or potentially execute arbitrary code on the underlying operating system. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
usb: ljca: bound bank_num in ljca_enumerate_gpio()
ljca_enumerate_gpio() reads desc->bank_num from the device and loops
valid_pin[i] = get_unaligned_le32(...) for i < bank_num. valid_pin[]
holds only LJCA_MAX_GPIO_NUM / 32 = 2 entries.
Two checks run before the loop. The reply length must match
struct_size(desc, bank_desc, bank_num). The product
pins_per_bank * bank_num must not exceed LJCA_MAX_GPIO_NUM. Neither one
bounds bank_num against the size of valid_pin[]. The reply is capped at
LJCA_MAX_PAYLOAD_SIZE (60) bytes, so the struct_size check limits
bank_num to 9. A device that reports bank_num 9 with pins_per_bank 7
still passes both checks. gpio_num is 63 and the reply is 56 bytes. The
loop then writes nine u32 into the two entry array and overruns
valid_pin[] on the stack.
A broken or malicious LJCA device can therefore overflow the stack.
Reject a bank_num that does not fit valid_pin[]. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf, x86: Fix trampoline stack size for 128-bit arguments
btf_distill_func_proto() accepts a function argument up to 16 bytes, so a
128-bit scalar such as __int128 reaches the x86 trampoline with
arg_size == 16. But the current implementation assumes an __int128
argument only needs one register, so the register save area is
under-allocated and save_args() overwrites adjacent stack slots.
Compute the register count from arg_size for all arguments to fix it. |
| OpenImageIO is a toolset for reading, writing, and manipulating image files of any image file format relevant to VFX / animation. Prior to 3.0.20.0, 3.1.15.0, and 3.2.0.3-beta1, A crafted cineon file can supply a numberofelements value greater than the format maximum of eight. cineoninput::open() uses that unchecked value as the loop bound while filling the fixed strings[8] array, writing pointers beyond the stack buffer and into adjacent state, resulting in memory corruption and denial of service. The affected implementation is identified by src/cineon.imageio/cineoninput.cpp, CineonInput::open(), numberOfElements, and strings[8], which define the relevant source path, functions, state, and trigger. This issue is fixed in versions 3.0.20.0, 3.1.15.0, and 3.2.0.3-beta1. |
| Dell OpenManage Server Administrator, versions prior to 11.1.0.3, contains a Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability. A high privileged attacker with remote access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Code execution. |
