CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: mac80211: fix potential key use-after-free
When ieee80211_key_link() is called by ieee80211_gtk_rekey_add()
but returns 0 due to KRACK protection (identical key reinstall),
ieee80211_gtk_rekey_add() will still return a pointer into the
key, in a potential use-after-free. This normally doesn't happen
since it's only called by iwlwifi in case of WoWLAN rekey offload
which has its own KRACK protection, but still better to fix, do
that by returning an error code and converting that to success on
the cfg80211 boundary only, leaving the error for bad callers of
ieee80211_gtk_rekey_add(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
RDMA/srp: Do not call scsi_done() from srp_abort()
After scmd_eh_abort_handler() has called the SCSI LLD eh_abort_handler
callback, it performs one of the following actions:
* Call scsi_queue_insert().
* Call scsi_finish_command().
* Call scsi_eh_scmd_add().
Hence, SCSI abort handlers must not call scsi_done(). Otherwise all
the above actions would trigger a use-after-free. Hence remove the
scsi_done() call from srp_abort(). Keep the srp_free_req() call
before returning SUCCESS because we may not see the command again if
SUCCESS is returned. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tee: amdtee: fix use-after-free vulnerability in amdtee_close_session
There is a potential race condition in amdtee_close_session that may
cause use-after-free in amdtee_open_session. For instance, if a session
has refcount == 1, and one thread tries to free this session via:
kref_put(&sess->refcount, destroy_session);
the reference count will get decremented, and the next step would be to
call destroy_session(). However, if in another thread,
amdtee_open_session() is called before destroy_session() has completed
execution, alloc_session() may return 'sess' that will be freed up
later in destroy_session() leading to use-after-free in
amdtee_open_session.
To fix this issue, treat decrement of sess->refcount and removal of
'sess' from session list in destroy_session() as a critical section, so
that it is executed atomically. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: nfc: fix races in nfc_llcp_sock_get() and nfc_llcp_sock_get_sn()
Sili Luo reported a race in nfc_llcp_sock_get(), leading to UAF.
Getting a reference on the socket found in a lookup while
holding a lock should happen before releasing the lock.
nfc_llcp_sock_get_sn() has a similar problem.
Finally nfc_llcp_recv_snl() needs to make sure the socket
found by nfc_llcp_sock_from_sn() does not disappear. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: fix uaf in smb20_oplock_break_ack
drop reference after use opinfo. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf: Defer the free of inner map when necessary
When updating or deleting an inner map in map array or map htab, the map
may still be accessed by non-sleepable program or sleepable program.
However bpf_map_fd_put_ptr() decreases the ref-counter of the inner map
directly through bpf_map_put(), if the ref-counter is the last one
(which is true for most cases), the inner map will be freed by
ops->map_free() in a kworker. But for now, most .map_free() callbacks
don't use synchronize_rcu() or its variants to wait for the elapse of a
RCU grace period, so after the invocation of ops->map_free completes,
the bpf program which is accessing the inner map may incur
use-after-free problem.
Fix the free of inner map by invoking bpf_map_free_deferred() after both
one RCU grace period and one tasks trace RCU grace period if the inner
map has been removed from the outer map before. The deferment is
accomplished by using call_rcu() or call_rcu_tasks_trace() when
releasing the last ref-counter of bpf map. The newly-added rcu_head
field in bpf_map shares the same storage space with work field to
reduce the size of bpf_map. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fs/ntfs3: Validate data run offset
This adds sanity checks for data run offset. We should make sure data
run offset is legit before trying to unpack them, otherwise we may
encounter use-after-free or some unexpected memory access behaviors.

btrfs: fix extent map use-after-free when handling missing device in read_one_chunk
Store the error code before freeing the extent_map. Though it's
reference counted structure, in that function it's the first and last
allocation so this would lead to a potential use-after-free.
The error can happen eg. when chunk is stored on a missing device and
the degraded mount option is missing.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
NFSD: fix use-after-free on source server when doing inter-server copy
Use-after-free occurred when the laundromat tried to free expired
cpntf_state entry on the s2s_cp_stateids list after inter-server
copy completed. The sc_cp_list that the expired copy state was
inserted on was already freed.
When COPY completes, the Linux client normally sends LOCKU(lock_state x),
FREE_STATEID(lock_state x) and CLOSE(open_state y) to the source server.
The nfs4_put_stid call from nfsd4_free_stateid cleans up the copy state
from the s2s_cp_stateids list before freeing the lock state's stid.
However, sometimes the CLOSE was sent before the FREE_STATEID request.
When this happens, the nfsd4_close_open_stateid call from nfsd4_close
frees all lock states on its st_locks list without cleaning up the copy
state on the sc_cp_list list. When the time the FREE_STATEID arrives the
server returns BAD_STATEID since the lock state was freed. This causes
the use-after-free error to occur when the laundromat tries to free
the expired cpntf_state.
This patch adds a call to nfs4_free_cpntf_statelist in
nfsd4_close_open_stateid to clean up the copy state before calling
free_ol_stateid_reaplist to free the lock state's stid on the reaplist. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
RDMA/srpt: Fix a use-after-free
Change the LIO port members inside struct srpt_port from regular members
into pointers. Allocate the LIO port data structures from inside
srpt_make_tport() and free these from inside srpt_make_tport(). Keep
struct srpt_device as long as either an RDMA port or a LIO target port is
associated with it. This patch decouples the lifetime of struct srpt_port
(controlled by the RDMA core) and struct srpt_port_id (controlled by LIO).
This patch fixes the following KASAN complaint:

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: flowtable: fix stuck flows on cleanup due to pending work
To clear the flow table on flow table free, the following sequence
normally happens in order:
1) gc_step work is stopped to disable any further stats/del requests.
2) All flow table entries are set to teardown state.
3) Run gc_step which will queue HW del work for each flow table entry.
4) Waiting for the above del work to finish (flush).
5) Run gc_step again, deleting all entries from the flow table.
6) Flow table is freed.
But if a flow table entry already has pending HW stats or HW add work
step 3 will not queue HW del work (it will be skipped), step 4 will wait
for the pending add/stats to finish, and step 5 will queue HW del work
which might execute after freeing of the flow table.
To fix the above, this patch flushes the pending work, then it sets the
teardown flag to all flows in the flowtable and it forces a garbage
collector run to queue work to remove the flows from hardware, then it
flushes this new pending work and (finally) it forces another garbage
collector run to remove the entry from the software flowtable.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ieee802154/adf7242: defer destroy_workqueue call
There is a possible race condition (use-after-free) like below
(FREE) | (USE)
adf7242_remove | adf7242_channel
cancel_delayed_work_sync |
destroy_workqueue (1) | adf7242_cmd_rx
| mod_delayed_work (2)
|
The root cause for this race is that the upper layer (ieee802154) is
unaware of this detaching event and the function adf7242_channel can
be called without any checks.
To fix this, we can add a flag write at the beginning of adf7242_remove
and add flag check in adf7242_channel. Or we can just defer the
destructive operation like other commit 3e0588c291d6 ("hamradio: defer
ax25 kfree after unregister_netdev") which let the
ieee802154_unregister_hw() to handle the synchronization. This patch
takes the second option.

binder: fix UAF of ref->proc caused by race condition
A transaction of type BINDER_TYPE_WEAK_HANDLE can fail to increment the
reference for a node. In this case, the target proc normally releases
the failed reference upon close as expected. However, if the target is
dying in parallel the call will race with binder_deferred_release(), so
the target could have released all of its references by now leaving the
cleanup of the new failed reference unhandled.
The transaction then ends and the target proc gets released making the
ref->proc now a dangling pointer. Later on, ref->node is closed and we
attempt to take spin_lock(&ref->proc->inner_lock), which leads to the
use-after-free bug reported below. Let's fix this by cleaning up the
failed reference on the spot instead of relying on the target to do so.

wifi: mac80211: Fix UAF in ieee80211_scan_rx()
ieee80211_scan_rx() tries to access scan_req->flags after a
null check, but a UAF is observed when the scan is completed
and __ieee80211_scan_completed() executes, which then calls
cfg80211_scan_done() leading to the freeing of scan_req.
Since scan_req is rcu_dereference()'d, prevent the racing in
__ieee80211_scan_completed() by ensuring that from mac80211's
POV it is no longer accessed from an RCU read critical section
before we call cfg80211_scan_done(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: nf_tables: release flow rule object from commit path
No need to postpone this to the commit release path, since no packets
are walking over this object, this is accessed from control plane only.
This helped uncovered UAF triggered by races with the netlink notifier. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Bluetooth: L2CAP: Fix use-after-free caused by l2cap_reassemble_sdu
Fix the race condition between the following two flows that run in
parallel:
1. l2cap_reassemble_sdu -> chan->ops->recv (l2cap_sock_recv_cb) ->
__sock_queue_rcv_skb.
2. bt_sock_recvmsg -> skb_recv_datagram, skb_free_datagram.
An SKB can be queued by the first flow and immediately dequeued and
freed by the second flow, therefore the callers of l2cap_reassemble_sdu
can't use the SKB after that function returns. However, some places
continue accessing struct l2cap_ctrl that resides in the SKB's CB for a
short time after l2cap_reassemble_sdu returns, leading to a
use-after-free condition (the stack trace is below, line numbers for
kernel 5.19.8).
Fix it by keeping a local copy of struct l2cap_ctrl.
