CVSS v3.1 |
A (D)TLS 1.2 client can accept a ChangeCipherSpec message before it has sent its ClientKeyExchange. No master secret has been derived at that point, so the client installs read keys derived from a known (deterministic) key and checks the server's Finished against that same key. An out-of-order ChangeCipherSpec can therefore be used by an attacker to complete the handshake in place of the server and send data the client accepts as authentic. The client's own traffic still uses correctly derived keys, so the attacker cannot read it, and the genuine server never completes the handshake. DTLS 1.2 clients are exposed because a datagram read can deliver the out-of-order records on its own. TLS 1.2 clients are exposed when the application supplies received bytes with wolfSSL_inject() or enables read ahead. For certificate suites, the attacker must be in a man-in-the-middle position. For PSK (Pre Shared Key) connections, any fake server can succeed without knowing the PSK.
Mongoose is an embedded web server and network library. Prior to 7.22, a remote attacker can place a lone carriage return or line feed in multipart input processed by mg_http_next_multipart() in src/http.c. The loops comparing s[b] and s[b + 1], and s[h2] and s[h2 + 1], use an incorrect AND condition and stop when either character resembles part of a CRLF terminator. This truncates headers, filenames, or boundaries and can cause an application to accept dangerous content after seeing a misleading Content-Type value. This issue is fixed in version 7.22.
On affected platforms running Arista EOS with IS-IS configured on a broadcast interface, an unauthenticated attacker can send a crafted IS-IS Hello Protocol Data Unit (PDU) that causes the device to tear down an established IS-IS adjacency. This may result in traffic disruption and loss of IP reachability for prefixes advertised through that adjacency.
Suricata is a network Intrusion Detection System, Intrusion Prevention System and Network Security Monitoring engine. Prior to 7.0.17 and 8.0.6, crafted IPv4 and IPv6 address pairs can collide in the IPPair hash because src/ippair.c did not compare the IP address family before reusing IPPair-backed state. This can apply state from one IP family to another for xbits track ip_pair, FTP data expectations, and, on the 7.0 release line, thresholding, detection_filter, and rate_filter rules using track by_both, causing incorrect detection state. This issue is fixed in versions 8.0.6 and 7.0.17.
A flaw was found in Quarkus. This issue occurs when receiving a request over websocket with no role-based permission specified on the GraphQL operation, Quarkus processes the request without authentication despite the endpoint being secured. This can allow an attacker to access information and functionality outside of normal granted API permissions.
Python Social Auth is a social authentication/registration mechanism. Prior to version 5.0.0, the Vend OAuth2 backend used only the numeric Vend user_id as the social-auth UID. When multiple Vend shops authenticate through the same application, users from different shops with the same internal Vend user ID could collide in the social-auth association table. A user from one shop could then be authenticated as the local account previously associated with the same numeric user ID from another shop. The issue affects applications using the Vend OAuth2 backend with more than one Vend shop. Version 5.0.0 patches the issue.
ip-address is a library for parsing and manipulating IPv4 and IPv6 addresses in JavaScript. Prior to 10.7.1, the isInSubnet and isHostInSubnet methods in src/common.ts compare masked binary strings without validating that both operands use the same IP family. A cross-family containment check whose leading address bits match makes the masked strings compare equal even though IPv4 and IPv6 do not share an address space. An allowlist or denylist decision can therefore classify an address outside the intended range as contained. This issue is fixed in version 10.7.1.
The Hide My WP Ghost WordPress plugin before 7.0.11 does not verify that a request is a genuine WooCommerce request before disabling its firewall, threat-detection and login/URL-hiding protections, treating the mere presence of an attacker-suppliable request parameter as sufficient, which allows unauthenticated attackers to disable those protections and re-expose the concealed login and admin URLs on any request.
The Hide My WP Ghost WordPress plugin before 7.0.11 does not properly validate a loopback security-check request before disabling its login and URL hiding protection, dropping that protection precisely when the request's verification value is missing or incorrect, which any visitor can arrange, allowing unauthenticated attackers to re-expose the concealed WordPress login page location.
The Clean Login WordPress plugin before 1.19 does not verify its registration CAPTCHA when the stored session value is empty, allowing unauthenticated users to bypass the anti-automation control on the registration form and create accounts without solving it.
The Paid Membership Subscriptions WordPress plugin before 3.1.0 does not verify the reCAPTCHA on its registration handler when a form field is absent from the request, allowing unauthenticated users to create accounts without solving the reCAPTCHA the site has enabled.
ip-address is a library for parsing and manipulating IPv4 and IPv6 addresses in JavaScript. Prior to 10.5.1, the Address6 isLinkLocal method in src/ipv6.ts recognizes only fe80::/64 instead of the complete fe80::/10 IPv6 link-local range. An attacker-controlled address elsewhere in fe80::/10 can therefore pass a trust-boundary check that relies on isLinkLocal. The same address is identified as link-local by getType and getScope, exposing the inconsistent classification. A successful bypass can reach an on-link host outside the intended trust boundary. This issue is fixed in version 10.5.1.
Axios is a promise-based HTTP client for the browser and Node.js. From 1.12.0 until 1.20.0, ResolveConfig reads inherited Symbol.toStringTag, append, and getHeaders properties while resolving FormData headers. A separate same-process prototype-pollution flaw supplies an array or non-plain class instance whose inherited properties make it appear FormData-like; plain objects are blocked. The inherited getHeaders function can return attacker-controlled headers that resolveConfig merges into a fetch adapter request. Attacker-controlled headers can alter authorization, cache, metadata-service, or application-specific request behavior. This issue is fixed in version 1.20.0.
Suricata is a network Intrusion Detection System, Intrusion Prevention System and Network Security Monitoring engine. Prior to 7.0.17 and 8.0.6, src/flow-hash.c can treat an IPv4 and IPv6 flow as equal without comparing the IP family when their raw address words, ports, protocol, VLAN, recursion level, live device, and hash bucket align. An IPv6 packet can therefore reuse IPv4 flow state or the reverse, causing incorrect flowbit state, detection bypass, or IP-only bypass. This issue is fixed in versions 8.0.6 and 7.0.17.
January, the media proxy/embed service of stoatchat (stoatchat/stoatchat), before version 0.15.5 improperly resolves SVG <image href> values as local filesystem paths when a fetched resource is served as image/svg+xml. An unauthenticated remote attacker who causes the service to proxy an attacker-hosted SVG (e.g. via the /proxy endpoint) can determine whether local files exist through observable response-time differences, and can cause supported local image files to be disclosed after re-encoding. Because each referenced file is read in full with no effective limit on the number or total volume of reads, a single request can also generate an unbounded amount of local filesystem I/O and memory pressure (the published proof of concept drives about 4.34 GB of reads), leading to denial of service. The issue is fixed in 0.15.5.
Protection mechanism failure for some Intel(R) Neural Compressor software before version v3.6 within Ring 3: User Applications may allow an escalation of privilege. Unprivileged software adversary with a privileged user combined with a low complexity attack may enable escalation of privilege. This result may potentially occur via local access when attack requirements are present without special internal knowledge and requires passive user interaction. The potential vulnerability may impact the confidentiality (high), integrity (high) and availability (high) of the vulnerable system, resulting in subsequent system confidentiality (none), integrity (none) and availability (none) impacts.
Contrast, Edgeless Systems' runtime for confidential containers on Kubernetes, is affected in versions up to and including 1.9.0. The VOLUME directive in a Dockerfile (config.volumes in the OCI image configuration) is only a hint and is not handled specially by Kubernetes, but containerd adds a mount point for it when Kubernetes sets none, requiring the runtime to be able to push arbitrary data to the Kata agent. As a result, on bare-metal Contrast deployments (AKS deployments are not affected) that run an image declaring at least one VOLUME for which no Kubernetes mount exists at that path, the untrusted host can write arbitrary file trees below that mount point inside the confidential container, compromising the integrity of a directory that is typically important to the application's core functionality. Version 1.9.1 fixes the issue by disallowing this configuration in `contrast generate`.
InvoicePlane is a self-hosted open source application for managing invoices, clients, and payments. Prior to 1.7.2, InvoicePlane's User_Controller compares the session user_type value with the required role by using PHP's loose inequality operator. Under a non-standard session backend that returns unexpected scalar types, type juggling can cause a value that is not strictly the required role to pass the authorization check. This can permit authentication or authorization bypass in affected session configurations. This issue is fixed in version 1.7.2.
InvoicePlane is a self-hosted open source application for managing invoices, clients, and payments. Prior to 1.7.2-rc-1, InvoicePlane builds its permitted template list by scanning a PHP template directory that can be written through an administrator-controlled file-write capability. A malicious PHP file placed in the directory is automatically trusted by Mdl_templates and can be selected as public_invoice_template. When a public invoice is rendered, the guest View controller includes the trusted file and executes it with web-server privileges. This issue is fixed in version 1.7.2-rc-1.
Notepad++ is a free and open-source source code editor. Prior to 8.9.8, Notepad++ incompletely enforces shortcuts.xml HMAC validation because WM_MACRODLGRUNMACRO, the Run a Macro Multiple Times entry point, calls macroPlayback() without the validation used by command(). A tampered shortcuts.xml macro that is blocked through the Macro menu or a shortcut key can therefore execute through the multi-run dialog and invoke internal Notepad++ commands, including commands that launch external programs, in the current user context. This issue is fixed in version 8.9.8.
