CVE-2025-38273 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-07-30 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: tipc: fix refcount warning in tipc_aead_encrypt syzbot reported a refcount warning [1] caused by calling get_net() on a network namespace that is being destroyed (refcount=0). This happens when a TIPC discovery timer fires during network namespace cleanup. The recently added get_net() call in commit e279024617134 ("net/tipc: fix slab-use-after-free Read in tipc_aead_encrypt_done") attempts to hold a reference to the network namespace. However, if the namespace is already being destroyed, its refcount might be zero, leading to the use-after-free warning. Replace get_net() with maybe_get_net(), which safely checks if the refcount is non-zero before incrementing it. If the namespace is being destroyed, return -ENODEV early, after releasing the bearer reference. CVE-2025-38262 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-07-30 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tty: serial: uartlite: register uart driver in init When two instances of uart devices are probing, a concurrency race can occur. If one thread calls uart_register_driver function, which first allocates and assigns memory to 'uart_state' member of uart_driver structure, the other instance can bypass uart driver registration and call ulite_assign. This calls uart_add_one_port, which expects the uart driver to be fully initialized. This leads to a kernel panic due to a null pointer dereference: [ 8.143581] BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 00000000000002b8 [ 8.156982] #PF: supervisor write access in kernel mode [ 8.156984] #PF: error_code(0x0002) - not-present page [ 8.156986] PGD 0 P4D 0 ... CVE-2025-38257 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-07-30 7.3 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/pkey: Prevent overflow in size calculation for memdup_user() Number of apqn target list entries contained in 'nr_apqns' variable is determined by userspace via an ioctl call so the result of the product in calculation of size passed to memdup_user() may overflow. In this case the actual size of the allocated area and the value describing it won't be in sync leading to various types of unpredictable behaviour later. Use a proper memdup_array_user() helper which returns an error if an overflow is detected. Note that it is different from when nr_apqns is initially zero - that case is considered valid and should be handled in subsequent pkey_handler implementations. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org).

CVE-2025-38211 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-07-30 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/iwcm: Fix use-after-free of work objects after cm_id destruction The commit 59c68ac31e15 ("iw_cm: free cm_id resources on the last deref") simplified cm_id resource management by freeing cm_id once all references to the cm_id were removed. The references are removed either upon completion of iw_cm event handlers or when the application destroys the cm_id. This commit introduced the use-after-free condition where cm_id_private object could still be in use by event handler works during the destruction of cm_id. The commit aee2424246f9 ("RDMA/iwcm: Fix a use-after-free related to destroying CM IDs") addressed this use-after- free by flushing all pending works at the cm_id destruction. However, still another use-after-free possibility remained. It happens with the work objects allocated for each cm_id_priv within alloc_work_entries() during cm_id creation, and subsequently freed in dealloc_work_entries() once all references to the cm_id are removed. If the cm_id's last reference is decremented in the event handler work, the work object for the work itself gets removed, and causes the use- after-free BUG below: BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in __pwq_activate_work+0x1ff/0x250 Read of size 8 at addr ffff88811f9cf800 by task kworker/u16:1/147091 CPU: 2 UID: 0 PID: 147091 Comm: kworker/u16:1 Not tainted 6.15.0-rc2+ #27 PREEMPT(voluntary) Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS 1.16.3-3.fc41 04/01/2014 Workqueue: 0x0 (iw_cm_wq) Call Trace: <TASK> dump_stack_lvl+0x6a/0x90 print_report+0x174/0x554 ? __virt_addr_valid+0x208/0x430 ? __pwq_activate_work+0x1ff/0x250 kasan_report+0xae/0x170 ? __pwq_activate_work+0x1ff/0x250 __pwq_activate_work+0x1ff/0x250 pwq_dec_nr_in_flight+0x8c5/0xfb0 process_one_work+0xc11/0x1460 ? __pfx_process_one_work+0x10/0x10 ? assign_work+0x16c/0x240 worker_thread+0x5ef/0xfd0 ? __pfx_worker_thread+0x10/0x10 kthread+0x3b0/0x770 ? __pfx_kthread+0x10/0x10 ? rcu_is_watching+0x11/0xb0 ? _raw_spin_unlock_irq+0x24/0x50 ? rcu_is_watching+0x11/0xb0 ? __pfx_kthread+0x10/0x10 ret_from_fork+0x30/0x70 ? __pfx_kthread+0x10/0x10 ret_from_fork_asm+0x1a/0x30 </TASK> Allocated by task 147416: kasan_save_stack+0x2c/0x50 kasan_save_track+0x10/0x30 __kasan_kmalloc+0xa6/0xb0 alloc_work_entries+0xa9/0x260 [iw_cm] iw_cm_connect+0x23/0x4a0 [iw_cm] rdma_connect_locked+0xbfd/0x1920 [rdma_cm] nvme_rdma_cm_handler+0x8e5/0x1b60 [nvme_rdma] cma_cm_event_handler+0xae/0x320 [rdma_cm] cma_work_handler+0x106/0x1b0 [rdma_cm] process_one_work+0x84f/0x1460 worker_thread+0x5ef/0xfd0 kthread+0x3b0/0x770 ret_from_fork+0x30/0x70 ret_from_fork_asm+0x1a/0x30 Freed by task 147091: kasan_save_stack+0x2c/0x50 kasan_save_track+0x10/0x30 kasan_save_free_info+0x37/0x60 __kasan_slab_free+0x4b/0x70 kfree+0x13a/0x4b0 dealloc_work_entries+0x125/0x1f0 [iw_cm] iwcm_deref_id+0x6f/0xa0 [iw_cm] cm_work_handler+0x136/0x1ba0 [iw_cm] process_one_work+0x84f/0x1460 worker_thread+0x5ef/0xfd0 kthread+0x3b0/0x770 ret_from_fork+0x30/0x70 ret_from_fork_asm+0x1a/0x30 Last potentially related work creation: kasan_save_stack+0x2c/0x50 kasan_record_aux_stack+0xa3/0xb0 __queue_work+0x2ff/0x1390 queue_work_on+0x67/0xc0 cm_event_handler+0x46a/0x820 [iw_cm] siw_cm_upcall+0x330/0x650 [siw] siw_cm_work_handler+0x6b9/0x2b20 [siw] process_one_work+0x84f/0x1460 worker_thread+0x5ef/0xfd0 kthread+0x3b0/0x770 ret_from_fork+0x30/0x70 ret_from_fork_asm+0x1a/0x30 This BUG is reproducible by repeating the blktests test case nvme/061 for the rdma transport and the siw driver. CVE-2025-38181 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-07-30 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: calipso: Fix null-ptr-deref in calipso_req_{set,del}attr(). syzkaller reported a null-ptr-deref in sock_omalloc() while allocating a CALIPSO option. [0] The NULL is of struct sock, which was fetched by sk_to_full_sk() in calipso_req_setattr(). Since commit a1a5344ddbe8 ("tcp: avoid two atomic ops for syncookies"), reqsk->rsk_listener could be NULL when SYN Cookie is returned to its client, as hinted by the leading SYN Cookie log. Here are 3 options to fix the bug: 1) Return 0 in calipso_req_setattr() 2) Return an error in calipso_req_setattr() 3) Alaways set rsk_listener 1) is no go as it bypasses LSM, but 2) effectively disables SYN Cookie for CALIPSO. 3) is also no go as there have been many efforts to reduce atomic ops and make TCP robust against DDoS. See also commit 3b24d854cb35 ("tcp/dccp: do not touch listener sk_refcnt under synflood"). As of the blamed commit, SYN Cookie already did not need refcounting, and no one has stumbled on the bug for 9 years, so no CALIPSO user will care about SYN Cookie. Let's return an error in calipso_req_setattr() and calipso_req_delattr() in the SYN Cookie case. This can be reproduced by [1] on Fedora and now connect() of nc times out. CVE-2025-38177 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-07-30 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sch_hfsc: make hfsc_qlen_notify() idempotent hfsc_qlen_notify() is not idempotent either and not friendly to its callers, like fq_codel_dequeue(). Let's make it idempotent to ease qdisc_tree_reduce_backlog() callers' life: 1. update_vf() decreases cl->cl_nactive, so we can check whether it is non-zero before calling it. 2. eltree_remove() always removes RB node cl->el_node, but we can use RB_EMPTY_NODE() + RB_CLEAR_NODE() to make it safe.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: Do not double dequeue a configuration request Some of our devices crash in tb_cfg_request_dequeue(): general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address 0xdead000000000122 CPU: 6 PID: 91007 Comm: kworker/6:2 Tainted: G U W 6.6.65 RIP: 0010:tb_cfg_request_dequeue+0x2d/0xa0 Call Trace: <TASK> ? tb_cfg_request_dequeue+0x2d/0xa0 tb_cfg_request_work+0x33/0x80 worker_thread+0x386/0x8f0 kthread+0xed/0x110 ret_from_fork+0x38/0x50 ret_from_fork_asm+0x1b/0x30 The circumstances are unclear, however, the theory is that tb_cfg_request_work() can be scheduled twice for a request: first time via frame.callback from ring_work() and second time from tb_cfg_request(). Both times kworkers will execute tb_cfg_request_dequeue(), which results in double list_del() from the ctl->request_queue (the list poison deference hints at it: 0xdead000000000122). Do not dequeue requests that don't have TB_CFG_REQUEST_ACTIVE bit set.

After calling bpf_exec_tx_verdict(), the size of msg_pl->sg may increase, e.g., when the BPF program executes bpf_msg_push_data(). If the BPF program sets cork_bytes and sg.size is smaller than cork_bytes, it will return -ENOSPC and attempt to roll back to the non-zero copy logic. However, during rollback, msg->msg_iter is reset, but since msg_pl->sg.size has been increased, subsequent executions will exceed the actual size of msg_iter. ''' iov_iter_revert(&msg->msg_iter, msg_pl->sg.size - orig_size); ''' The changes in this commit are based on the following considerations: 1. When cork_bytes is set, rolling back to non-zero copy logic is pointless and can directly go to zero-copy logic. 2. We can not calculate the correct number of bytes to revert msg_iter. Assume the original data is "abcdefgh" (8 bytes), and after 3 pushes by the BPF program, it becomes 11-byte data: "abc?de?fgh?". Then, we set cork_bytes to 6, which means the first 6 bytes have been processed, and the remaining 5 bytes "?fgh?" will be cached until the length meets the cork_bytes requirement. However, some data in "?fgh?" is not within 'sg->msg_iter' (but in msg_pl instead), especially the data "?" we pushed. So it doesn't seem as simple as just reverting through an offset of msg_iter. 3. For non-TLS sockets in tcp_bpf_sendmsg, when a "cork" situation occurs, the user-space send() doesn't return an error, and the returned length is the same as the input length parameter, even if some data is cached. Additionally, I saw that the current non-zero-copy logic for handling corking is written as: ''' line 1177 else if (ret != -EAGAIN) { if (ret == -ENOSPC) ret = 0; goto send_end; ''' So it's ok to just return 'copied' without error when a "cork" situation occurs.

A previous commit(see Fixes tag) introduced skb_get() to avoid race conditions between skb operations in the backlog and skb release in the recvmsg path. However, this caused the panic to always occur when skb_linearize is executed. The "--rx-strp 100000" parameter forces the RX path to use the strparser module which aggregates data until it reaches 100KB before calling sockmap logic. The 100KB payload exceeds MAX_MSG_FRAGS, triggering skb_linearize. To fix this issue, just move skb_get into sk_psock_skb_ingress_enqueue. ''' sk_psock_backlog: sk_psock_handle_skb skb_get(skb) <== we move it into 'sk_psock_skb_ingress_enqueue' sk_psock_skb_ingress____________ ↓ | | → sk_psock_skb_ingress_self | sk_psock_skb_ingress_enqueue sk_psock_verdict_apply_________________↑ skb_linearize ''' Note that for verdict_apply path, the skb_get operation is unnecessary so we add 'take_ref' param to control it's behavior.
