CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nvme-tcp: fix UAF when detecting digest errors
We should also bail from the io_work loop when we set rd_enabled to true,
so we don't attempt to read data from the socket when the TCP stream is
already out-of-sync or corrupted. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tcp: fix page frag corruption on page fault
Steffen reported a TCP stream corruption for HTTP requests
served by the apache web-server using a cifs mount-point
and memory mapping the relevant file.
The root cause is quite similar to the one addressed by
commit 20eb4f29b602 ("net: fix sk_page_frag() recursion from
memory reclaim"). Here the nested access to the task page frag
is caused by a page fault on the (mmapped) user-space memory
buffer coming from the cifs file.
The page fault handler performs an smb transaction on a different
socket, inside the same process context. Since sk->sk_allaction
for such socket does not prevent the usage for the task_frag,
the nested allocation modify "under the hood" the page frag
in use by the outer sendmsg call, corrupting the stream.
The overall relevant stack trace looks like the following:

The cifs filesystem rightfully sets sk_allocations to GFP_NOFS,
we can avoid the nesting using the sk page frag for allocation
lacking the __GFP_FS flag. Do not define an additional mm-helper
for that, as this is strictly tied to the sk page frag usage.
v1 -> v2:
- use a stricted sk_page_frag() check instead of reordering the
code (Eric) |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
userfaultfd: fix a race between writeprotect and exit_mmap()
A race is possible when a process exits, its VMAs are removed by
exit_mmap() and at the same time userfaultfd_writeprotect() is called.
The race was detected by KASAN on a development kernel, but it appears
to be possible on vanilla kernels as well.
Use mmget_not_zero() to prevent the race as done in other userfaultfd
operations. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: hns3: do not allow call hns3_nic_net_open repeatedly
hns3_nic_net_open() is not allowed to called repeatly, but there
is no checking for this. When doing device reset and setup tc
concurrently, there is a small oppotunity to call hns3_nic_net_open
repeatedly, and cause kernel bug by calling napi_enable twice.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tty: Fix out-of-bound vmalloc access in imageblit
This issue happens when a userspace program does an ioctl
FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO passing the fb_var_screeninfo struct
containing only the fields xres, yres, and bits_per_pixel
with values.
If this struct is the same as the previous ioctl, the
vc_resize() detects it and doesn't call the resize_screen(),
leaving the fb_var_screeninfo incomplete. And this leads to
the updatescrollmode() calculates a wrong value to
fbcon_display->vrows, which makes the real_y() return a
wrong value of y, and that value, eventually, causes
the imageblit to access an out-of-bound address value.
To solve this issue I made the resize_screen() be called
even if the screen does not need any resizing, so it will
"fix and fill" the fb_var_screeninfo independently. |

virtio-net: Add validation for used length
This adds validation for used length (might come
from an untrusted device) to avoid data corruption

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
veth: ensure skb entering GRO are not cloned.
After commit d3256efd8e8b ("veth: allow enabling NAPI even without XDP"),
if GRO is enabled on a veth device and TSO is disabled on the peer
device, TCP skbs will go through the NAPI callback. If there is no XDP
program attached, the veth code does not perform any share check, and
shared/cloned skbs could enter the GRO engine.
Ignat reported a BUG triggered later-on due to the above condition:

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipc/mqueue, msg, sem: avoid relying on a stack reference past its expiry
do_mq_timedreceive calls wq_sleep with a stack local address. The
sender (do_mq_timedsend) uses this address to later call pipelined_send.
This leads to a very hard to trigger race where a do_mq_timedreceive
call might return and leave do_mq_timedsend to rely on an invalid
address, causing the following crash:
RIP: 0010:wake_q_add_safe+0x13/0x60
Call Trace:
__x64_sys_mq_timedsend+0x2a9/0x490
do_syscall_64+0x80/0x680
entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x44/0xa9
RIP: 0033:0x7f5928e40343
The race occurs as:
1. do_mq_timedreceive calls wq_sleep with the address of `struct
ext_wait_queue` on function stack (aliased as `ewq_addr` here) - it
holds a valid `struct ext_wait_queue *` as long as the stack has not
been overwritten.
2. `ewq_addr` gets added to info->e_wait_q[RECV].list in wq_add, and
do_mq_timedsend receives it via wq_get_first_waiter(info, RECV) to call
__pipelined_op.
3. Sender calls __pipelined_op::smp_store_release(&this->state,
STATE_READY). Here is where the race window begins. (`this` is
`ewq_addr`.)
4. If the receiver wakes up now in do_mq_timedreceive::wq_sleep, it
will see `state == STATE_READY` and break.
5. do_mq_timedreceive returns, and `ewq_addr` is no longer guaranteed
to be a `struct ext_wait_queue *` since it was on do_mq_timedreceive's
stack. (Although the address may not get overwritten until another
function happens to touch it, which means it can persist around for an
indefinite time.)
6. do_mq_timedsend::__pipelined_op() still believes `ewq_addr` is a
`struct ext_wait_queue *`, and uses it to find a task_struct to pass to
the wake_q_add_safe call. In the lucky case where nothing has
overwritten `ewq_addr` yet, `ewq_addr->task` is the right task_struct.
In the unlucky case, __pipelined_op::wake_q_add_safe gets handed a
bogus address as the receiver's task_struct causing the crash.
do_mq_timedsend::__pipelined_op() should not dereference `this` after
setting STATE_READY, as the receiver counterpart is now free to return.
Change __pipelined_op to call wake_q_add_safe on the receiver's
task_struct returned by get_task_struct, instead of dereferencing `this`
which sits on the receiver's stack.
As Manfred pointed out, the race potentially also exists in
ipc/msg.c::expunge_all and ipc/sem.c::wake_up_sem_queue_prepare. Fix
those in the same way. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net:emac/emac-mac: Fix a use after free in emac_mac_tx_buf_send
In emac_mac_tx_buf_send, it calls emac_tx_fill_tpd(..,skb,..).
If some error happens in emac_tx_fill_tpd(), the skb will be freed via
dev_kfree_skb(skb) in error branch of emac_tx_fill_tpd().
But the freed skb is still used via skb->len by netdev_sent_queue(,skb->len).
As i observed that emac_tx_fill_tpd() haven't modified the value of skb->len,
thus my patch assigns skb->len to 'len' before the possible free and
use 'len' instead of skb->len later. |
| An out-of-memory flaw was found in libtiff that could be triggered by passing a crafted tiff file to the TIFFRasterScanlineSize64() API. This flaw allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service via a crafted input with a size smaller than 379 KB. |
| A signed integer overflow vulnerability was found in GStreamer's VMnc decoder. A crafted VMnc stream with large cursor dimensions can overflow signed integer payload-size arithmetic, bypassing a length check and leading to out-of-bounds reads. A remote attacker could trick a user into opening a specially crafted VMnc file, potentially causing a crash or information disclosure. |
| A heap buffer overflow vulnerability was found in GStreamer's librfb (RFB/VNC client). The rectangle bounds check incorrectly validates area rather than individual dimensions, allowing a malicious VNC server to send a rectangle that extends beyond the framebuffer. A remote attacker could set up a malicious VNC server and trick a user into connecting, resulting in an out-of-bounds heap write that could lead to code execution or a crash. |
| A flaw was found in GStreamer's WavPack audio decoder in gst-plugins-good. When processing a specially crafted WavPack file, an integer overflow in the buffer size calculation (4 * block_samples * channels) in gst_wavpack_dec_handle_frame() causes a very small heap allocation. The WavPack library then writes decoded audio samples far beyond the allocated buffer, resulting in heap memory corruption. This affects both 32-bit and 64-bit systems since the arithmetic is performed in 32-bit integers before promotion to the allocation size type. A remote attacker could use this flaw to crash an application or potentially execute arbitrary code by convincing a user to open a malicious WavPack audio file. |
| A flaw was found in GLib (Gnome Lib). This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause heap corruption, leading to a denial of service or potential code execution via a buffer-underflow in the GVariant parser when processing maliciously crafted input strings. |
| A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net/sched: cls_u32 component can be exploited to achieve local privilege escalation.
If tcf_change_indev() fails, u32_set_parms() will immediately return an error after incrementing or decrementing the reference counter in tcf_bind_filter(). If an attacker can control the reference counter and set it to zero, they can cause the reference to be freed, leading to a use-after-free vulnerability.
We recommend upgrading past commit 04c55383fa5689357bcdd2c8036725a55ed632bc. |
| Use After Free vulnerability in Linux kernel traffic control index filter (tcindex) allows Privilege Escalation. The imperfect hash area can be updated while packets are traversing, which will cause a use-after-free when 'tcf_exts_exec()' is called with the destroyed tcf_ext. A local attacker user can use this vulnerability to elevate its privileges to root.
This issue affects Linux Kernel: from 4.14 before git commit ee059170b1f7e94e55fa6cadee544e176a6e59c2. |
| A denial of service vulnerability was found in GStreamer's AV1 codec parser in gst-plugins-bad. The gst_av1_parser_parse_tile_list_obu() function passes a byte count to a bit-reader API that expects a bit count, causing parser desynchronization. A remote attacker could trick a user into opening a specially crafted AV1 media file, triggering an assertion abort and causing the application to crash. |
| An out-of-bounds read vulnerability was found in the VA JPEG decoder in GStreamer's gst-plugins-bad. The JPEG parser reads a segment length value from the bitstream without validating it against available data. A remote attacker could trick a user into opening a specially crafted JPEG file, causing downstream parsing to read beyond the provided input buffer, leading to a crash or potential information disclosure. |
| A vulnerability was identified in Linux Kernel up to 4.19.316/5.4.278/5.10.220/5.15.161. This impacts the function tcp_getsockopt/tcp_setsockopt of the component TCP Handler. Such manipulation leads to race condition. A high complexity level is associated with this attack. The exploitability is said to be difficult. The vulnerability was introduced in 2.6.12, commit 1da177e4c3f41524e886b7f1b8a0c1fc7321cac2 ("Linux-2.6.12-rc2"). Upgrading to version 4.19.317, 5.4.279, 5.10.221, 5.15.162 and 6.1 will fix this issue. The name of the patch is fcd31dd8291b23d713245947ec2b2d99ef07aef2/3b32f265805a49071e2c4568a524398ba22bf93c/d529193eae979a7bf2255cd9fe68b7af7a1c91b3/5bb642cc3355ffd3c8bca0a8bd8e6e65bcc2091c/f49cd2f4d6170d27a2c61f1fecb03d8a70c91f57.
