CVSS v3.1 |
| Vector is a high-performance observability data pipeline. From 0.10.0 until 0.57.0, the file sink renders its templated path from event fields and opens the result without confining it to an intended directory. When an untrusted source supplies an event field used by the path template, the value can contain an absolute path or parent-directory traversal, causing Vector to create parent directories and create or overwrite files outside the intended location with the Vector process privileges. The resulting file write can modify sensitive files and can lead to code execution when a scheduled task, authorization file, or subsequently executed script is targeted. This issue is fixed in version 0.57.0. |
| A flaw was found in evolution-data-server. Inconsistent comparison logic in the addressbook file backend allows a Flatpak application with D-Bus access to craft a malicious URI containing directory traversal sequences. This URI is stored without proper validation during contact creation or modification. Later, during contact deletion, the URI is processed with a less strict check, leading to the deletion of arbitrary files on the host filesystem. This could potentially include critical Flatpak override files. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: us122l: Prevent write upgrades for read mappings
The hwdep mmap callback rejects read-buffer mappings that are initially
writable, but leaves VM_MAYWRITE set on mappings created with PROT_READ.
A process that can open the hwdep node O_RDWR can later use mprotect() to
make the mapping writable.
The read allocation begins with struct usb_stream. Its read_size member is
used by the fault handler to decide which pages belong to the read buffer.
The read VMA intentionally remains expandable because pcm_usb_stream uses
mremap() after reading that size. Changing read_size first can therefore
map and access pages beyond the allocation. The same member is also
consumed by usb_stream_free(), where changing it can make
free_pages_exact() release pages outside the allocation.
Clear VM_MAYWRITE for read-buffer mappings after rejecting an initially
writable VMA. This keeps the separate output-buffer mapping writable while
preventing later permission upgrades. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nstree: check listing permission before taking a namespace reference
legitimize_ns() takes a reference on the candidate namespace before
may_list_ns() has decided whether the caller may see it. The
__free(ns_put) cleanup on the denied path can drop the last reference to a
mount namespace while we still hold the rcu read lock, and put_mnt_ns()
may sleep there. This is the same problem commit 2ec2aff3c8e2 ("ns: make
sure reference are dropped outside of rcu lock") fixed for the put_user()
path. Neither ns_requested() nor may_list_ns() needs a reference, both
only look at the namespace type and at the caller's own namespaces, so do
the checks first and take the reference last.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
virtio_input: reset device if input_register_device() fails
Probe marks the device DRIVER_OK with virtio_device_ready() before
calling input_register_device(). If registration fails, the error path
cleared vi->ready and called del_vqs() while the device was still live,
so the device could keep DMA to queues that were already torn down.
Match remove/freeze: call virtio_reset_device() on that path before
tearing down the virtqueues. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf: backtracking shouldn't clear outer frame R1-R5 for callbacks
When processing calls to bpf_loop() verifier marks R1 (and R4) as
precise. R1 tracks loop iterations number and because of the
'callback_depth < R1' mechanics in check_helper_call() must be marked
precise. However, precision propagation for R1 was broken,
when bpf_loop() call was verified on a second iteration.
Consider the following verification trace:
- main: bpf_loop(nr_loops, callback ...)
- callback: BPF_EXIT
- main: bpf_loop(nr_loops, callback ...)
- ...
While the first visit of the call to bpf_loop() propagated R1
precision as expected, the second call to mark_chain_precision() in
the check_helper_call() set R1, but it was immediately reset when
backtrack_insn() processed preceding BPF_EXIT in the loop deleted in
this patch.
Because of that, the second visit of the call to bpf_loop() injected
checkpoint with R1 not marked as precise. Which could trick the
verifier into accepting unsafe programs. See the next patch for an
example of such program.
Commit is structured in a way to minimize conflicts when
'bpf' would be eventually merged with 'bpf-next'. |
| InvoicePlane is a self-hosted open source application for managing invoices, clients, and payments. Prior to 1.7.2-rc-1, InvoicePlane builds its permitted template list by scanning a PHP template directory that can be written through an administrator-controlled file-write capability. A malicious PHP file placed in the directory is automatically trusted by Mdl_templates and can be selected as public_invoice_template. When a public invoice is rendered, the guest View controller includes the trusted file and executes it with web-server privileges. This issue is fixed in version 1.7.2-rc-1. |
| An Authenticated Remote Code Execution via Arbitrary File Write in the Intermec Fingerprint Command Interface vulnerability in the web management interface in Honeywell PD45 Industrial Printer version F10.19.010040, allows an authenticated user with access to the admin or itadmin account to submit commands written in the Intermec Fingerprint programming language directly to the printer ’s internal command interpreter.
An attacker could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to the execution of malicious files and commands. Honeywell also recommends updating to the most recent firmware version, Honeywell PD45 Industrial Printer firmware F10.22.030745, which includes a fix for this vulnerability. |
| Dell Trusted Device Client, versions prior to 8.1.359.0, contain an Incorrect Permission Assignment for Critical Resource vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with local access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Information tampering. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
svcrdma: Fix unmatched rn_unregister on failed accept
When svc_rdma_accept() takes the errout path before
rpcrdma_rn_register() has succeeded, the existing cleanup block
calls rpcrdma_rn_unregister(dev, &newxprt->sc_rn) unconditionally.
svcxprt_rdma is kzalloc'd, so on that path sc_rn.rn_index is 0 and
sc_rn.rn_done is NULL; the unregister therefore xa_erase()s another
caller's slot 0 and performs an unmatched kref_put() on the
rpcrdma_device's rd_kref.
The same errout also brackets the cleanup with svc_xprt_get()/
svc_xprt_put() around the kref_init() birth reference. The kref
goes 1 -> 2 -> 1 and never reaches 0, so the svcxprt_rdma (and the
net/ns_tracker it pinned) is leaked on every failed accept.
rpcrdma_rn_register() writes rn->rn_done last, only after xa_alloc()
and kref_get() have both succeeded, so rn_done == NULL is a natural
"never registered" sentinel. Guard rpcrdma_rn_unregister() with an
early return when rn_done is NULL, and clear rn_done before the
matching xa_erase() so a repeated unregister is also a no-op.
With that guard in place, the accept errout drops the kref_init()
birth reference via svc_xprt_put(), which dispatches svc_rdma_free().
Teardown of sc_qp, sc_sq_cq, sc_rq_cq, and sc_pd runs under existing
IS_ERR/NULL guards in svc_rdma_free(); sc_rn is covered by the new
rn_done sentinel; sc_cm_id is non-NULL on every errout path because
svc_rdma_accept() dereferences it above the first goto errout.
svc_xprt_free() drops the module reference associated with the freed
transport, and svc_handle_xprt() drops its pre-acquired reference
when ->xpo_accept() returns NULL. Take a replacement module reference
before svc_xprt_put() so the two module_put()s remain balanced.
The rn_done guard also covers svc_rdma_free()'s non-listener call
to rpcrdma_rn_unregister() for transports whose register attempt
failed or never ran. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
regulator: tps6594: Fix device node reference leaks in multiphase loop
In tps6594_regulator_probe(), the multi-phase configuration loop calls
of_find_node_by_name() to find buck nodes by name, and of_get_parent()
twice to navigate to the PMIC parent node. None of the acquired node
references (np, intermediate parent, np_pmic_parent) are ever released
via of_node_put(), causing a reference leak on every loop iteration.
Additionally, of_find_node_by_name() can return NULL, but the result was
immediately passed to of_node_full_name() and of_get_parent() without a
NULL check, which could lead to a NULL pointer dereference.
Fix this by:
- Adding a NULL check for np after of_find_node_by_name()
- Storing the intermediate parent node in a local variable np_parent
- Calling of_node_put() on np, np_parent and np_pmic_parent at the
end of each loop iteration |
| External control of file name or path in Windows Shell allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| Incorrect permission assignment allows local users to obtain sensitive CalDAV/CardDAV information belonging to other accounts. |
| Foxit PDF Editor/Reader failed to validate the directory traversal path in the attachment file name, resulting in malicious attachments being able to be written to directories outside the expected secure area when the PDF is opened. |
| When a Tauri application uses the dialog plugin's file or folder picker, an attacker with JavaScript execution (XSS) can force the scope expansion to be recursive, granting read/write access to an entire directory tree after a single user click on a normal-looking OS file dialog. The user has no indication that recursive access was granted, and the expanded scope cannot be revoked for the lifetime of the application. |
| Plex Media Server before 1.43.3.10861 allows an admin user to write arbitrary files that may be executed on load. The preference TranscoderH264Options is appended verbatim to x264's option string on every transcode. At startup, all .so files are run without signature, execute bit, or symbol checks. |
| The Apache Lounge Windows distribution of Apache HTTP Server build contains an insecure installation directory permissions vulnerability through its default install directory on C:\, which inherits write access for Authenticated Users. |
| A local privilege escalation vulnerability exists in the update daemon of Foxit PDF Editor/Reader due to an insecure permission configuration that allows the configuration file to be modified by regular users, which may lead to arbitrary script execution with higher privileges. |
| A local privilege escalation vulnerability exists in the installer of Foxit PDF Editor for macOS due to insufficient validation of a user-modifiable configuration value during high-privilege upgrades. A local attacker could exploit this issue to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges. |
| Streamlink is a CLI utility which pipes video streams from various services into a video player. Prior to 8.6.0, HTTPSession mounts a FileAdapter for the file scheme and inherits redirect handling from requests.Session without rejecting cross-protocol redirects. A remote server controlling an HTTP or HTTPS URL reached by Streamlink can return a redirect to a local file URL, causing HTTPSession to read the local file and return its contents to the response consumer. This bypasses the direct file URL checks added for HLS and DASH content because the manifest contains an ordinary network URL and the scheme transition occurs later during fetch handling. The flaw applies to every request made through HTTPSession, and a segment fetch can place the local file contents into stream output. This issue is fixed in version 8.6.0. |
