In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb/client: handle overlapping allocated ranges in fallocate smb3_simple_fallocate_range() can skip holes when an allocated range returned by the server starts before the current fallocate offset. The skipped hole is not zero-filled, but fallocate still returns success. A later write to that hole may therefore fail with ENOSPC. The function queries allocated ranges so that it can preserve existing contents and write zeroes only into holes. However, the server may return a range that starts before the current fallocate offset. For example, assume the fallocate request is [100, 400) and the only allocated range returned by the server is [0, 200): Request: [100, 400) Server range: [ 0, 200) allocated Correct: [100, 200) allocated data, skip [200, 400) hole, zero-fill Current: [100, 300) skipped [300, 400) zero-filled afterwards The current code adds the full server range length, 200, to the current offset 100 and moves to 300. As a result, the hole in [200, 300) is skipped without being zero-filled. Fix this by advancing only over the part of the allocated range that overlaps the current fallocate offset. Ignore ranges that end before the current offset and reject ranges whose end offset overflows. This also prevents a malformed range length from causing an out-of-bounds zero-buffer read.

However the relocation path preallocates space for each block, then dirties them, cluster by cluster. It's possible to have a single block at the beginning of the block group, and no other block in the same cluster. So relocation will preallocate a file extent for that block and dirty the first block. Then memory pressure forces the data reloc inode to be written back, before any other blocks are dirtied/allocated. Finally commit 3eaf5f082c4c ("btrfs: extract inlined creation into a dedicated delalloc helper") changed the sequence of delalloc. Before that commit we always tried NOCOW first, so that dirtied block would be written back into the preallocated space, and appear as a regular extent. But with that commit, we always try inline first, and since compression is forced, we try compressing the first block, and then inline the compressed data, resulting in the above inlined file extent in the data reloc tree. Then the check in get_new_location() will check the file offset, without checking if the file extent is inlined or not, resulting in the above failure. [FIX] Do not allow compression for data reloc inodes. Since data reloc inode sizes are always block aligned, as long as we do not compress, @data_len will always be at least one block, and that will cause can_cow_file_range_inline() to return false, thus no inlined extent will be created.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: dsa: fix a crash if ->get_sset_count() fails If ds->ops->get_sset_count() fails then it "count" is a negative error code such as -EOPNOTSUPP. Because "i" is an unsigned int, the negative error code is type promoted to a very high value and the loop will corrupt memory until the system crashes. Fix this by checking for error codes and changing the type of "i" to just int.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libceph: fix invalid accesses to ceph_connection_v1_info There is a place where generic code in messenger.c is reading and another place where it is writing to con->v1 union member without checking that the union member is active (i.e. msgr1 is in use). On 64-bit systems, con->v1.auth_retry overlaps with con->v2.out_iter, so such a read is almost guaranteed to return a bogus value instead of 0 when msgr2 is in use. This ends up being fairly benign because the side effect is just the invalidation of the authorizer and successive fetching of new tickets. con->v1.connect_seq overlaps with con->v2.conn_bufs and the fact that it's being written to can cause more serious consequences, but luckily it's not something that happens often.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: acpi: nfit: fix narrowing conversion in acpi_nfit_ctl Syzkaller has reported a warning in to_nfit_bus_uuid(): "only secondary bus families can be translated". This warning is emited if the argument is equal to NVDIMM_BUS_FAMILY_NFIT == 0. Function acpi_nfit_ctl() first verifies that a user-provided value call_pkg->nd_family of type u64 is not equal to 0. Then the value is converted to int, and only after that is compared to NVDIMM_BUS_FAMILY_MAX. This can lead to passing an invalid argument to acpi_nfit_ctl(), if call_pkg->nd_family is non-zero, while the lower 32 bits are zero. Furthermore, it is best to return EINVAL immediately upon seeing the invalid user input. The WARNING is insufficient to prevent further undefined behavior based on other invalid user input. All checks of the input value should be applied to the original variable call_pkg->nd_family. [iweiny: update commit message]

Attackers can obtain signatures on truncated or misinterpreted message values to authorize unintended blockchain transactions, such as asset transfers at incorrect amounts.

Prior to 7.5.18, node-tar coerces all-digit PAX path and linkpath values in src/pax.ts to JavaScript numbers, causing downstream path handling such as normalizeWindowsPath(entry.path).split('/') to throw an uncaught TypeError. This issue is fixed in version 7.5.18.

Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, Coder's OIDC callback checked `email_verified` with a direct Go `bool` type assertion. When an IdP returned the claim as a non-boolean (for example the string `"false"`) or omitted it, the assertion failed open and the email was treated as verified. Combined with an unconditional email-based account fallback, this enabled account takeover. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 coerces `email_verified` across bool, string and numeric types (fail-closed) and blocks the email fallback when the matched user already has a different linked IdP subject. As a workaround, ensure the IdP returns `email_verified` as a native JSON boolean. The email-fallback linking issue has no configuration workaround; upgrading is required.

A flaw was found in Keylime, a remote attestation solution, where strict type checking introduced in version 7.12.0 prevents the registrar from reading database entries created by previous versions, for example, 7.11.0. Specifically, older versions store agent registration data as bytes, whereas the updated registrar expects str. This issue leads to an exception when processing agent registration requests, causing the agent to fail.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Switch CONFIG_CFI_CLANG to CONFIG_CFI This was renamed in commit 23ef9d439769 ("kcfi: Rename CONFIG_CFI_CLANG to CONFIG_CFI") as it is now a compiler-agnostic option. Using the wrong name results in the code getting compiled out. Meaning the CFI failures for btf_dtor_kfunc_t would still trigger.

vLLM is an inference and serving engine for large language models (LLMs). From 0.18.0 to before 0.20.0, the extract_hidden_states speculative decoding proposer in vLLM returns a tensor with an incorrect shape after the first decode step, causing a RuntimeError that crashes the EngineCore process. The crash is triggered when any request in the batch uses sampling penalty parameters (repetition_penalty, frequency_penalty, or presence_penalty). A single request with a penalty parameter (e.g., "repetition_penalty": 1.1) is sufficient to crash the server. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.20.0.

OpenTelemetry eBPF Instrumentation provides eBPF instrumentation based on the OpenTelemetry standard. From version 0.1.0 to before version 0.9.0, malformed MongoDB wire messages can trigger uncaught panics in the MongoDB TCP parser, allowing a remote unauthenticated attacker to crash the telemetry agent and cause a denial of service. The parser operates on raw attacker-controlled network payloads before the input is fully validated, so a single crafted message can terminate telemetry collection for the affected process or node. This issue has been patched in version 0.9.0.

free5GC is an open-source implementation of the 5G core network. Prior to 4.2.2, free5GC's UDR nudr-dr DELETE /subscription-data/{ueId}/{servingPlmnId}/ee-subscriptions/{subsId}/amf-subscriptions handler panics on a single authenticated request against a fresh UDR instance when the supplied ueId does not exist in UESubsCollection. The processor checks value, ok := udrSelf.UESubsCollection.Load(ueId) and sets a 404 USER_NOT_FOUND problem-details on the miss path, but execution continues and immediately runs value.(*udr_context.UESubsData) -- a Go type assertion on a nil interface, which panics with interface conversion: interface {} is nil, not *context.UESubsData. Gin recovery converts the panic into HTTP 500, but the endpoint remains repeatedly panicable. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.2.2.

apko allows users to build and publish OCI container images built from apk packages. Prior to version 1.2.7, DiscoverKeys in pkg/apk/apk/implementation.go unconditionally type-asserts JWKS keys as *rsa.PublicKey without checking the key type. If a repository JWKS endpoint returns a non-RSA key (e.g. EC), the unchecked assertion panics and crashes apko. This affects any workflow that initializes the APK database and fetches repository keys. This issue has been patched in version 1.2.7.
